Our Lord provides his leaders with godly visions and resilient perseverance to teach and train people of God to be thoroughly effective in all good work. Dr. Willie James Green, Jr. has concentrated his attention on teaching God’s word to provide and strengthen a desire to live a life demonstrating Godly principles to all who come into his presence. He realizes the absolute need to build a Godly relationship and train Christians to develop and maintain their decision to live a transformed lifestyle to follow a true and living God. Preaching, teaching and training God’s disciples have become the absolute focus of this Pastor.
Dr. Willie James Green, Jr was blessed to be the first born of Deacon Willie James Green Sr. and Evangelist Augustine Green. With dedicated Christian parents, he was taught the principles of leadership and necessity of developing his godly talents and gifts. With their direction he became a musician with the capability and desire to sing songs of praise. As he grew and continued to develop his teaching and preaching skills became even more important to his eventual call into the ministry.
Rev. Willie James Green was baptized in 1973 by the late Rev. Arthur Dandridge of the Second New Guide Baptist Church. Moving at God’s command in 1991, he was called and licensed in the ministry of preaching. He faithfully served with Worldwide Outreach Ministries as a Sunday School Teacher, Musician and the Ministerial Staff. Later in 1996, he joined and continued to develop his godly skills and talents with the Rising Star Baptist Church under the capable leadership and developing of Rev. Leon Lafayette.
Education is a definite necessary pursuit to becoming the best you can be. Rev. Green’s quest to achieve ushered him to Phillips Junior College where he received an Associated Degree in Computer Programming. This challenged him to continue to Southern University of New Orleans to continue his studies and receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science. This achievement allowed him to provide adequately for his family but the journey had only begun for he knew God’s calling. He entered Christian Bible College of Louisiana and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Theology and then on to Ashford University of Clinton, Iowa to continue his direction and receive a Master’s Degree in Education. His final goal to complete his studies was not complete and he completed the challenge in Christian Theology at the Fellowship International Bible College receiving a Doctorate Degree (Th.D.).
Dr. Willie James Green, Jr. is the husband of Prophetess Samantha Green. They are the proud parents of Willie James III, Alicia Marie, and Angela Marie Green. They are the grandparents of 2 beautiful grandchildren.
Fully prepared to do the work of the Master, Rev. Willie J. Green, Jr. was elected to pastor First Mission Baptist Church in 2004, after the death of Pastor Earley Watts. He was ordained and installed as Pastor, January 15, 2005 by the Rising Sun Missionary Baptist Association.
He has served as the Recording Secretary of this Association for 9 years and the Executive Secretary for the past four years. He was elected to lead the Rising Sun Baptist Association July 2014. Currently he is a Board Member and Professor at Fellowship International Bible College.
